SMC Staff Handbook
As we know, SMC is an opportunity for students to get to engage with Jesus – whether it be as they explore what it would look like to follow Him or have been growing in a personal relationship with Him for a time. We also know that in order to make SMC possible it takes all of us working together! In order for us to be on the same page & in the know of all things SMC, we wanted to create a place for you to have many of your questions answered. Refer back to this page often as updates will come! If you have any questions regarding specific aspects to the conference, you can find a list of SMC Directors & Coordinators below. Thank you all for the ways that you are serving & will serve to make SMC 2025 happen!

Emergency Management
Emergencies & crises on-site are extremely rare, but here's what to know to be prepared.
Emergencies may include:
- Medical emergencies
- Theft or vandalism
- Exhibit crisis (fire, bomb threats, active shooter, etc.)
- Local issues with property management or neighboring retailers
Emergency procedures:
Step 1: In the case of emergency, please call 911 if warranted & the Event Manager on-site (Melinda - D: 417-243-7015 / M: 417-239-7193).
Step 2: Call/text Katie Turner or Lyndsey Mickle to communicate the situation.
Remain calm, use common sense, & follow all instructions from emergency response teams.
Get the facts. Be prepared to provide detailed information for StuMo to draft a statement if needed.
Professional demeanor:
Regardless of circumstances, in every crisis or emergency situation it's important that all SMC volunteers & staff demonstrate a sense of compassion & a commitment to safety.
Additionally, volunteers & staff should demonstrate empathy for the situation & communicate that action is being taken to contain or resolve the issue.
